The Turnbull Government today commences a merit selection process for the position of Race Discrimination Commissioner at the Australian Human Rights Commission.
The Race Discrimination Commissioner has the role of promoting understanding and acceptance of, and compliance with, the Racial Discrimination Act, promoting understanding, tolerance and friendship among racial and ethnic groups, and leading the Australian Human Rights Commission's work in promoting the benefits of cultural and linguistic diversity for all Australians.
The selection process will be undertaken in accordance with the Australian Public Service Commission Merit and Transparency Guidelines.
Applications for the position are now being accepted, and will close at 9am on 11 May, 2018 for appointment from August 2018.
