Mr Karl Blake has been appointed as a judge of the Federal Circuit Court of Australia and will commence in the Melbourne Registry on 30 January 2019.
Mr Blake graduated with a Bachelor of Laws with Honours and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne in 1997, and was admitted as a legal practitioner of the Supreme Court of Victoria in 1998.
Mr Blake began his career as a lawyer at Blake Dawson Waldron in 1998 specialising in industrial relations and employment law. He became a Senior Associate in 2001 before becoming Team Leader and later Practice Group Head with Maddocks. In 2007, Mr Blake became a Partner at Maddocks until 2015 when he was appointed Partner at MinterEllison, where he has continued to be recognised as a leading practitioner in industrial relations and employment law.
