National Gallery of Australia Council appointment

Today, I announce the appointment of Mrs Rhonda White AO as a member of the Council of the National Gallery of Australia.

Mrs White is currently Managing Director of the White Retail Group Pty Ltd.

With an outstanding history of corporate success, Mrs White will bring invaluable business, management and entrepreneurial experience to the National Gallery’s council. Mrs White is a pharmacist and an organisational psychologist, a Doctor of the University, Griffith University and an Adjunct Professor, Faculty of Health, Queensland University of Technology.

In 2014, Mrs White was appointed as an Officer of the General Division of the Order of Australia for distinguished service to the pharmacy profession, particularly through contributions to education and retail management practices, and as a role model for women in business. Her skills and success were also recognised with her inclusion in the Queensland Business Leaders Hall of Fame in 2011.

Mrs White has been a director of a number of government and private companies including Ergon Energy, Energex Retail and was the Foundation Chair of the Queensland Cancer Fund Volunteers.

She currently serves as Deputy Chair and Trustee of the Queensland Performing Arts Trust, is a member of the Federal Health Minister’s Advisory Council, Governor in Council, Griffith University Council and Non-Executive Director of TWC Group Investments Limited.

I extend my thanks to outgoing council members Mr Callum Morton and Mrs Catherine Rossi Harris AO PSM for their valuable service to the National Gallery.

Mrs White joins Chairman Allan Myers AO QC, and members John Calvert-Jones AM, Timothy Fairfax AC, Mr Warwick Hemsley, Mr John Hindmarsh AM, Mrs Jane Hylton, Mr Ezekiel Solomon AM and Mr Jason Yeap OAM on the Council of the National Gallery of Australia.
