Chair appointment to National Library of Australia Council

15 July 2015

I am pleased to announce the re-appointment of Ryan Stokes as Chair of the National Library of Australia Council.

Mr Stokes was appointed as Chair to the Council in 2012. During this time he has provided excellent leadership to the Council. His corporate experience and expertise has also been of significant value, particularly in growing philanthropic and private sector support.

He has delivered significant sponsorship outcomes, including facilitating the loan of a number of rare and unique cartographic treasures from around the world to the National Library of Australia for its highly successful Mapping Our World exhibition and facilitating the loan of the Rothschild Prayer Book for its first public display in Australia.

Mr Stokes is the CEO of Australian Capital Equity and Seven Group Holdings. He currently serves on the boards of Seven West Media, WesTrac and the Prime Ministerial Advisory Council for Veterans’ Mental Health. He has also served on the Board of the Perth International Arts Festival and as Chair of the Youth Mental Health Foundation – Headspace.

Mr Stokes has been reappointed for a three-year term.
